Free calculators for Pakistani taxpayers. Nothing is stored, nothing is sent anywhere, and every rate carries the date it was last checked against an FBR source.
Income tax calculator
Work out tax on a salary for any year from 2019 to 2027, with the slab-by-slab breakdown and a comparison against earlier years.
What non-filer status costs you
Put in your own figures and see filer, late filer and non-filer rates side by side, taken from the FBR withholding rate card.
Late filing penalty
The section 182 penalty and the section 182A surcharge are two different things. This works out both, and shows which rule decided the figure.
Sales tax (GST) calculator
Add sales tax to a net figure, or take it back out of a tax-inclusive price. Covers the federal rate on goods, each province’s rate on services, and further tax on unregistered buyers.
Which one do you need?
They answer four different questions, and the one people reach for first is often not the one that will tell them what they want to know.
- “How much tax comes out of my salary?” — the income tax calculator. It applies the slabs for the year you pick and shows which band each rupee fell into, so you can see where the jumps happen rather than just the total.
- “Is it actually worth filing?” — the filer status calculator. This is the one that answers the question most people are really asking. It compares what the same year costs you on the filer, late filer and non-filer rate columns across bank profit, dividends, cash withdrawals, vehicles and property.
- “I have already missed the deadline. What does that cost?” — the late filing penalty calculator. It separates the penalty you owe from the surcharge you can choose whether to pay, which is a distinction that changes the decision.
- “What do I put on this invoice?” — the sales tax calculator. Adds or removes sales tax at the federal rate on goods or your province’s rate on services, and handles further tax on unregistered buyers.
If you are working out whether to file at all, the useful order is the second one and then the third: find out what a year of non-filer rates costs you, then find out what it costs to fix it. In most cases the first number is considerably larger than the second.
Where the figures come from
Tax rates in Pakistan change with almost every Finance Act, and a good deal of what circulates online is out of date. Each calculator names its source and shows when we last checked it, so you can judge for yourself how current it is.
Withholding rates come from the FBR Directorate General of Withholding Taxes rate card. Slabs and surcharges come from the relevant Finance Act. Sales tax rates come from the Sales Tax Act 1990 and the provincial revenue authorities. Where sources disagree with each other, we say so on the page rather than quietly picking one — the minimum late filing penalty and the provincial service rates are both flagged in place for exactly this reason.
The rates are held in one block of our own code with a verification date attached, which is why the worked examples in the surrounding text cannot drift away from what the tool returns. When a rate changes, both move together.
What these tools do not do
They handle the common cases and will give you a reliable estimate. They do not cover every exemption, credit or special regime, and they are no substitute for someone who has seen your actual position.
Specifically: they do not file anything for you, they do not connect to IRIS or to your FBR account, and they do not check whether you are on the Active Taxpayers List — that lookup has to be done through the FBR’s own service. Nothing you type into them is stored or transmitted; the calculations run in your browser.
Check anything that matters with the FBR or a registered tax practitioner before acting on it.
