HOW TO BE COME A FILER
Step 1: Obtain an NTN Number
In order to become a filer and included in the active taxpayers list (ATL), a person needs to know if they already have an NTN or not.
If you don’t have the NTN then visit this website and get yourself registered under Registration for Unregistered Person. Fill in the simple form and follow the procedure to log into the IRIS system.
You will find “Registration Form” in the draft folder. Complete the form and submit it. You will get your NTN in an hour or so.
After getting the NTN you will have to submit your tax return for tax year 2017 to become a filer.

Step 4: E-Enrollment for Registered Person
People who already have an NTN but no Iris username or password, can obtain it by clicking “E-Enrollment for Registered Person,” as pointed out in the image.
